The members of the Board are supporters and advocates of the King’s Gate programs who understand the ministry and priorities of the school. When looking for members, the Board is especially attentive to parents and grandparents of children who have attended or are currently attending King’s Gate programs who can contribute specific skills and experience to support the work of the Board.
Board members are known to be godly individuals who prioritize and exemplify biblical guidelines for leadership, the pursuit of peace, and kingdom education. All members respect King’s Gate policies and procedures in word and deed. When providing oversight for the school and advocating for change or new policies for the school, Board members are guided by biblical principles and follow the guidelines provided by established policies and by-laws.
The Board continues to ensure that King’s Gate Ministries provides accredited thriving programs through qualified and loving teachers, staff, and management; appropriate early childhood, elementary and upper school environments; up-to-date and accountable policies and procedures; fiscal responsibility; and strategic planning in an ever-changing educational climate.
I am a retired electrical engineer and engineering manager. My professional career in both the consulting and oilfield industries emphasized implementing automation and advancing the application of technology. My family includes generations of educators. Our adult children and all our grandchildren have been participants in King’s Gate summer programs. All three of our granddaughters are currently enrolled in King’s Gate early childhood programs. I am an outspoken advocate of King’s Gate’s culture, ministry, educational philosophy, and programs. My personal ministry includes being actively involved in encouraging, advising, and assisting our school leadership. I also enjoy volunteering at the school with everything from popping popcorn for special events, to helping with office procedures, to helping with strategies for furthering the King’s Gate experience. In addition to my degree in electrical engineering, I earned an MBA from OU.
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the LORD, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the LORD as a reward. It is the LORD Christ you are serving.” Colossians 3:23-24
King’s Gate Christian School holds a very special place in my heart as my brothers and I attended the preschool program in the late 1980s. My wife, Laura, has worked in education for more than 10 years as a teacher and now as a dyslexia therapist. When it came time for us to find the ideal school to send our two children, we could not find a place that felt more ideal than King’s Gate. This school is unparalleled in its commitment to a Kingdom focused approach to education as well as individualized attention to each student. I am honored to have the opportunity to serve on the Board of a school with these priorities at the forefront of every decision and look forward to the amazing future the LORD has planned for King’s Gate.
“For I can do all things through Christ, who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13 (NLT)
King’s Gate is more than a school, it is a haven. In the business of life and through decades, King’s Gate stands still and welcomes all who want to learn. My wife of 13 years, Stephanie and I have had the privilege of sending both of our children, Jack and Olivia to King’s Gate. I now have the honor of serving God through the school, its families, and their children.
I am excited to use my past and current experiences of leading an energy company, being associate pastor at church, a dad, a husband and a student to build upon the foundation laid so faithfully at King’s Gate. As a part of the leadership body of King’s Gate, I will challenge and be challenged to grow this haven into the fullness of God’s plan.
“If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here. 16 For how then will it be known that Your people and I have found grace in Your sight, except You go with us? So we shall be separate, Your people and I, from all the people who are upon the face of the earth. Exodus 33: 15 (NKJV)
What a joy and privilege to get to serve the family of King’s Gate as a board member! My husband Kory and I have been married since 1998 and we are blessed with 4 children: Molly (22), Emi (21), Anna (7) and Asa (6). Anna and Asa have attended King’s Gate since their Preschool-Primer days. We have found King’s Gate to be a very special place – a school faithfully demonstrating the truth about God and His creation with grace and love.
I am passionate about honoring the uniqueness of each child as a gift from God and facilitating ways to best equip the whole child. As a natural parent, adoptive parent, former foster parent and court appointed special advocate for children, I have advocated for and navigated the unique educational needs of children, both in school systems and as a 12-year homeschooling parent. I have witnessed the fruit produced from teachers at King’s Gate who seek to know the specialness of each child and cultivate learning through their wisdom, thoughtfulness and dedication. I look forward to serving King’s Gate, where each parent is considered a partner and each child is beautifully engaged and encouraged toward their unique calling in the world.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes: fear the LORD and turn away from evil. Proverbs 3:5-7
My name is Tiffany Smith. I am an RN who owns my own wellness business. I married Norman, an OKC Firefighter, in 1998 and we have 6 wonderful children ranging in age from 20 to 8. All of our children have attended King’s Gate or King’s Gate Leadership Internship. We’ve been at King’s Gate Christian School since 2016, and we look forward to many more.
We love the mission of King’s Gate, their commitment to emotional and spiritual education, as much as the superb academic education. We love the evidence-based practice education King’s Gate is committed to offering. Everyone at King’s Gate, from the administration to every teacher we have had, is of the highest quality and truly cares about the growth and development each of our children.
I look forward to bringing the parental perspective of older grades to the Board as King’s Gate continues to grow. I have acquired a wealth of knowledge of Education from both of my parents who have their Doctorates in Education (Wyndi Bradley was a favorite student of my mother’s) and from homeschooling for 12 years. I am truly honored to help King’s Gate accomplish all that God has destined it do, and I am excited to serve the Lord, the families, and the administration by being on the Board.
Our Family Verse:
‘And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
I am humbled and honored to serve as a King’s Gate Board member. My family has been involved with King’s Gate to some degree or other since 1989 and I have seen firsthand the fruit of their ministry
I was born in England but grew up in Australia and New Zealand. I came to America to go to school and while attending OSU I met my beautiful wife, Angie. We have been married for over 30 years. Angie served as a King’s Gate board member over 20 years ago. All five of our amazing daughters, Ashlyn, Emma, Kathryn, Faith, and Hope attended King’s Gate and have served as King’s Gate Teaching Assistants. I am impressed with how King’s Gate staff are taught and encouraged to maintain academic excellence while also teaching Christian principles and modeling Christ-like behavior to their students and each other. All my daughters love and serve the LORD and have shared experiences where they have been ministered to by their mentors at King’s Gate.
In my spare time when I’m not attending dancing competitions and pageants with my daughters, I like to do missionary work in Mexico and Kenya and work as pit crew for Potters Clay Motorcycle Racing Team.
I’m hoping to use my diverse background as an Attorney, Youth Minister, and small business owner to support and continue to grow King’s Gate and see more families blessed by this outstanding school.
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask GOD, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” James 1:5 ESV
I became a King’s Gate board member in January 2017. I first began to hear about King’s Gate through friends whose children attended there and were very pleased with their children’s experience. As I learned more about the school, I was very drawn to the school’s emphasis on providing a loving, gentle, Christ-like environment for the students that is so evident at King’s Gate. I was also very impressed with the small class sizes, high teacher to student ratio, and quality of teaching. So when offered the opportunity to serve on the board, I was delighted to have an opportunity to help accomplish the mission of this wonderful school. I feel that King’s Gate is a blessing to the community in the way it nurtures children while educating them with excellence. I have two adult daughters and was married to my wonderful husband, Bob, for thirty-one years until he went to be with the LORD in October 2014 after an eight month battle with brain cancer. I look forward to all that GOD will accomplish through King’s Gate in the future.
“I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have (perfect) peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer (take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted)! For I have overcome the world. (I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.)” John 16:33 Amplified Bible
I attended King’s Gate for preschool almost 30 years ago. I still remember many of the songs and have taught them to my kids. I’m thrilled about the opportunity to come full circle and serve on the board at King’s Gate. I graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2009 with a degree in business management and now work as a commercial banker with First United Bank. I married my beautiful wife Salem in 2010. We have a three year old daughter named Hallie and a 9 month old son named Heston. I believe in the ministry and the vision of the school and I am excited to play a part. I truly believe the LORD will do amazing things with the seeds we have the opportunity to plant in these kids and their families.
“… give thanks in all circumstances; for this is GOD’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18
I started my career with King’s Gate in 1996 as the Director of the part-time programs and I became the head administrator in 2003. I received my undergraduate degree in Business from the University of Central Oklahoma where I also completed my master’s degree in Education. I completed my Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership at Liberty University. I married the love of my life, Bryan in 1986 and we celebrated 34 years this year! He still takes my breath away like he did the very first time I saw him.
I have admired King’s Gate for the way the staff loves and respects children since our daughter attended as a preschooler. It is humbling to be part of something so special, to be counted among such a gifted and loving staff and to see our GOD work in the lives of so many every single day. King’s Gate is an exceptional place where staff and families work together to prepare and empower students for their individual purpose. Thank you for sharing your family with us!
