King’s Gate held its annual fundraising Gala Friday, Nov. 15th at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club. Nearly 300 attendees gathered together for a night of fellowship and fun. Thanks to the generosity of the 2019 King’s Gate Gala sponsors, underwriters and supporters, close to $65,000 was raised during this event!
A fun addition to this year’s Gala festivities included an exciting pencil raffle. $100 bought a King’s Gate pencil and a chance to win any of the live auction items. A limited amount of pencils were sold (100 total) to increase the odds of winning and participants who could not attend the Gala still had the opportunity to purchase a chance online during the presale. Polly Batenhorst’s name was drawn as the pencil raffle winner and she chose ‘To the Fire’, the framed acrylic painting by Oklahoma artist Steve Boaldin, as her pick from the live auction.
Another highlight came after Board Member Justin Boyd gave a Growing King’s Gate Campaign update and announced that the King’s Gate Board has made $40,000 in new contributions and pledges towards the $600,000 JASCO matching grant. As a result of Justin’s heartfelt appeal to have others in the room join the efforts to reach this goal by December 2020, a generous donor was inspired to make a $25,000 gift to the campaign. Together, those gifts will be matched dollar-for-dollar by JASCO Products Company – for a total of $130,000!
