King's Gate Christian School

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Our Board members understand the ministry and priorities of King’s Gate, supporting and advocating for our programs. When looking for new members, priority is given to parents and grandparents of past or current students who have specific skills and experience to support the work of the Board.

Board members are godly individuals who prioritize and exemplify biblical guidelines for leadership, the pursuit of peace, and kingdom education. All members respect King’s Gate policies and procedures in word and deed. When providing oversight and advocating for change, they are guided by biblical principles and follow guidelines provided by established policies and by-laws.

The Board continues to ensure that King’s Gate Ministries provide accredited thriving programs through:

  • Loving teachers, staff, and management
  • Appropriate early childhood, elementary, and upper school environments
  • Up-to-date and accountable policies and procedures
  • Fiscal responsibility
  • Strategic planning in an ever-changing educational climate

We appreciate our Board members for working tirelessly to support the King’s Gate Mission!

King’s Gate Christian School holds a very special place in my heart as my brothers and I attended the preschool program in the late 1980s. My wife, Laura, has worked in education for more than 10 years as a teacher and now as a dyslexia therapist. When it came time for us to find the ideal school to send our two children, we could not find a place that felt more ideal than King’s Gate. This school is unparalleled in its commitment to a Kingdom focused approach to education as well as individualized attention to each student. I am honored to have the opportunity to serve on the Board of a school with these priorities at the forefront of every decision and look forward to the amazing future the LORD has planned for King’s Gate. “For I can do all things through Christ, who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13 (NLT)

I am a retired electrical engineer and engineering manager. My professional career in both the consulting and oilfield industries emphasized implementing automation and advancing the application of technology. My family includes generations of educators. Our adult children and all our grandchildren have been participants in King’s Gate summer programs. All three of our granddaughters are progressing through King’s Gate early childhood programs into elementary. I am an outspoken advocate of King’s Gate’s culture, ministry, educational philosophy, and programs. My personal ministry includes being actively involved in encouraging, advising, and assisting our school leadership. I also enjoy volunteering at the school with everything from popping popcorn for special events, to helping with office procedures, to helping with strategies for furthering the King’s Gate experience. In addition to my degree in electrical engineering, I earned an MBA from OU. “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the LORD, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the LORD as a reward. It is the LORD Christ you are serving.” Colossians 3:23-24

What a joy and privilege to get to serve the family of King’s Gate as a board member! My husband Kory and I have been married since 1998 and we are blessed with 4 children: Molly (22), Emi (21), Anna (7) and Asa (6). Anna and Asa have attended King’s Gate since their Preschool-Primer days. We have found King’s Gate to be a very special place – a school faithfully demonstrating the truth about God and His creation with grace and love. I am passionate about honoring the uniqueness of each child as a gift from God and facilitating ways to best equip the whole child. As a natural parent, adoptive parent, former foster parent and court appointed special advocate for children, I have advocated for and navigated the unique educational needs of children, both in school systems and as a 12-year homeschooling parent. I have witnessed the fruit produced from teachers at King’s Gate who seek to know the specialness of each child and cultivate learning through their wisdom, thoughtfulness and dedication. I look forward to serving King’s Gate, where each parent is considered a partner and each child is beautifully engaged and encouraged toward their unique calling in the world. Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes: fear the LORD and turn away from evil. Proverbs 3:5-7

King’s Gate is more than a school, it is a haven. In the business of life and through decades, King’s Gate stands still and welcomes all who want to learn. My wife of 13 years, Stephanie and I have had the privilege of sending both of our children, Jack and Olivia to King’s Gate. I now have the honor of serving God through the school, its families, and their children. I am excited to use my past and current experiences of leading an energy company, being associate pastor at church, a dad, a husband and a student to build upon the foundation laid so faithfully at King’s Gate. As a part of the leadership body of King’s Gate, I will challenge and be challenged to grow this haven into the fullness of God’s plan. “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here. 16 For how then will it be known that Your people and I have found grace in Your sight, except You go with us? So we shall be separate, Your people and I, from all the people who are upon the face of the earth. Exodus 33: 15 (NKJV)

I attended King’s Gate for preschool almost 30 years ago. I still remember many of the songs and have taught them to my kids. I’m thrilled about the opportunity to come full circle and serve on the board at King’s Gate. I graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2009 with a degree in business management and now work as a commercial banker with First United Bank. I have a daughter named Hallie and a son named Heston. I believe in the ministry and the vision of the school and I am excited to play a part. I truly believe the LORD will do amazing things with the seeds we have the opportunity to plant in these kids and their families. “… give thanks in all circumstances; for this is GOD’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18
